Trim Levels

The K5 options begin with the LXS and move up to the GT-Line, which comes with either four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The next level up is the EX, and then there is the GT. Performance

The LXS, GT-Line, and EX all come standard with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This produces up to 180 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The GT is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This delivers up to 290 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft of torque. Kia added steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for this surprisingly powerful trim level.

Exterior Design

This LXS is equipped with LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle has a smart trunk that opens automatically when you approach with your smart key. The GT-Line adds 18-inch alloy wheels with a gloss-black machined finish. It also had GT-Line exclusive body styling, LED headlights, and fog lights.

Interior

The rear seat in the K5 has a center armrest, making the back row more comfortable. The back row does fold down to provide more cargo space. The GT-Line comes with a 10-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar adjustment. This trim level also adds a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel.

The EX trim level elevates the front seats, making them both heated and ventilated. The GT adds heated GT sport bolstered front seats for added style and comfort.

Infotainment System

An eight-inch touchscreen is standard. It comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth with multi-device connectivity. There is a six-speaker sound system in the vehicle.

The GT-Line elevates this system to a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with navigation. It also adds a wireless phone charger.

Safety Assist

Kia has equipped this vehicle with a rearview camera and a long list of driver-assist features in their Kia Drive Wise package. Standard features include a safe exit warning, driver attention warning, leading vehicle departure alert, and high beam assist.
