The Kia Seltos manages to stand out among its peers in the popular subcompact SUV category. Attractive styling touches include a contrast-color roof and deep creases in the hood and nose. The uniquely styled bodywork complements a comfortable interior and dependable performance to deliver a terrific all-around vehicle at an affordable price. In terms of cabin space, the Seltos seats up to five and boasts a larger cargo area than other vehicles in this category.

On the inside, the roomy cabin is outfitted with handsome materials and smart design touches. The upscale SX trim features interior ambient lighting that can be set to pulse along with the music. The base LX version gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while higher trims upgrade this to 10.3 inches. The infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration as well as an optional smartphone charging pad and up to three USB ports.

New Features

For 2022, Kia has given the Seltos a number of useful upgrades that will appeal to consumers. Multiple driver assistance features are now standard, including lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlamps. The Seltos S, EX, and SX versions all come with a 10.3-inch touchscreen now, in addition to automatic climate control and remote start.

The top-level SX version gets a unique flat-bottomed steering wheel as well as a cool new Plum interior color design. There’s also a new Nightfall Edition in the Seltos lineup, featuring sleek black 18-inch aluminum wheels and blacked-out exterior trim.

Performance

The Kia Seltos offers two engine options for consumers to choose from. The first option is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder version that puts out 146 horsepower and comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission. This base version is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There’s also a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 175 hp with a seven-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

Fuel Economy

The base engine with front-wheel drive offers the best gas mileage in the Seltos lineup with an EPA rating of 29 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The turbocharged version is rated at 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

These are just a few of the reasons why drivers are falling in love with the Kia Seltos. It’s a versatile subcompact SUV that delivers excellent performance at an affordable price. Contact or stop by Coughlin Kia of Lancaster to find out more and take the Seltos out for a test drive.
