Kia has been steadily building its brand for decades. We remember them thanks to their catchy commercials, but it’s the quality of their vehicles that has kept them in the limelight. The new 2022 Kia Soul is here and is the most famous Kia yet. Let’s see what has caused the newest Soul to hit the top of the charts so quickly.

Basics About the 2022 Kia Soul

The Standard Soul

A red 2022 Kia Soul Turbo driving on the highway.

This four-door hatchback SUV can seat up to five people. The horsepower is 147 and the engine displacement is 2.0L/122. This standard trim gets 31 MPG combined and has front-wheel drive.

The window trim and front windshield trim are a sleek black. The grille is also black with chrome trimming while the power side mirrors and door handles are body-colored. The rear bumper is body-colored and has a fascia accent with a black rub strip. The glass from front to back is all deep-tinted for added privacy.

The Soul Turbo

This trim offers a seven-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive. It has a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6 L engine. The combined MPG for the Soul Turbo is 29.

The Turbo boasts comfort features the standard Soul does not have. One of these is the first-row sunroof. It can open and close via sliding/tilting and has a sunshade. The Turbo has heated front seats and even a heated leather steering wheel. Since it has a push-button start, there are proximity sensors for the doors so you can keep your key fob in your pocket.

New/Unique Features: Where Premium Meets Practical

The Standard Soul

The Soul comes readily equipped with a profusion of safety and security features. You can feel confident with all your loved ones in the passenger seats. The Electronic Stability Control, ABS, and Driveline Traction Control will give you the most tread on any terrain no matter how slippery or loose.

There are curtain airbags for the front and rear rows, rear-seat child safety locks, side-impact beams, and dual-stage front airbags. With the backup camera, you’ll always know what’s behind you.

The Soul Turbo

In addition to the above, the Soul Turbo comes with many more options to make your drive more accessible and safer. The optional Head-Up Display keeps your eyes where they should be. It projects crucial navigation and road information directly onto your windshield. The cruise control system has an implemented Distance Pacing program that radars the car ahead of you and keeps you a safe three-second distance away.

Another helpful system includes the Blind Spot Collision Warning alert. The Lane Keeping Assist system with the Lane Departure Warning program will keep you safely in your lane at all times. The is a Collision Mitigation system for the front and rear that foresees accidents and prepares the vehicle for them. The Driver Monitoring Alert will give auditory and visual cues if it senses you’re tired at the wheel. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assistant can also detect pedestrians.

As you can see, you can’t lose if you go with a Kia Soul for your next ride. It’s durable, stylish, practical, and available at a great price.
