There’s plenty to explore in Lancaster, OH. This city of 36,000 has four National Register Historic Districts, and the Ohio Glass Museum and Glassblowing Studio, which depicts the importance of the glass industry in this area’s development, is not to be missed. 1. Cincinnati

If you’re ready for a day in the city, head to Cincinnati and check out attractions ranging from the Newport Aquarium to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. The American Sign Museum is also an excellent attraction. This specialty museum chronicles the development of signage. Once you’ve wrapped up your museum visits, check out the food and craft vendors at Findlay Market, Ohio’s oldest continuously operated public market.

It will take you a little over two hours to reach Cincinnati from Lancaster. The backup-up camera in your Kia Soul LX will make it easy to snag a downtown parking space.

2. Canton

There are many reasons Canton is worth a road trip, but most drivers head to this city of 14,000 to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery depicts the history of football from Super Bowl I to modern-day and features game footage and interactive kiosks. And the Hall of Fame Gallery has the bronzed bust of each Hall of Famer. Touch screen kiosks provide information on each member of the hall of fame.

Canton is just a two-hour drive from Lancaster.

3. Huntington, WV

If you’re anywhere in the area of Huntington, WV, make it a point to visit the Blenko Glass Company. Family-owned Blenko Glass dates back to 1893 and is known for its colorful hand-blown glass creations. Take a factory tour and see how the Blenko Glass creations come together, or go through the Blenko Glass Museum and see historic designs on display. There is also a Visitor’s Center Gift Shop, where you’ll be able to add to your Blenko collection.

Huntington is a little over two hours from Lancaster, but the power rear windows, front and rear cupholders, and heated front bucket seats in your Kia Sportage X-Line will ensure a comfortable drive.

4. Columbus

If you don’t want to spend too much time on the road, Ohio’s capital city is just 40 minutes away and offers plenty to do. The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens are one of the top attractions in Columbus, and so is the Center of Science and Industry, a science museum.

If you want to hang with the locals, head to the Eastern Town Center, an indoor/outdoor shopping complex with restaurants, fine shopping, and a movie theater. There’s also a Legoland Discovery Center at this complex.
